I knew visiting POP BAKERY would be dangerous for someone like me.
I already have a weakness for character merchandise, tiny collectibles, cute packaging, and desserts that look like they belong beside an acrylic stand. Putting an entire POP MART shop underneath a character-themed bakery feels less like a normal café concept and more like a carefully planned attack on my wallet.
Located at WEAVE in Resorts World Sentosa, the two-storey POP MART flagship brings retail and dining together under one roof. The first level is where you can browse the toys and Singapore-exclusive merchandise; upstairs is Southeast Asia’s first POP BAKERY, filled with themed desserts, cushioned beige seats, colourful character details, and several very tempting photo opportunities.
The café is at 26 Sentosa Gateway, #01-233/233A, Singapore 098138. It feels easy to include in a Sentosa day out because it is within the main Resorts World Sentosa area, and you do not need a Universal Studios Singapore ticket just to visit.
I expected the bakery to be cute, but I was more curious about whether the food would feel like an actual dessert experience or simply merchandise in edible form. As expected, presentation plays a major role. Almost everything is designed around familiar POP MART characters, including LABUBU, PUCKY and Twinkle Twinkle.
The PUCKY Xiao Long Bao Dessert, priced at $18++, was one of the first things that caught my attention. It arrives in a dim sum-style setup, with a PUCKY-shaped soya milk panna cotta and ice cream, biscuit sticks pretending to be chopsticks, and milk chocolate dipping sauce. It is playful without being impossible to eat; the panna cotta keeps the dessert light and smooth, which helps because the whole menu can become visually overwhelming very quickly.
The Singapore-exclusive Twinkle Twinkle Coconut Mousse is also $18++. It comes in tangy and sweet variations, with an edible chocolate coconut shell. The tangy version combines pineapple filling and passionfruit popping boba, while the sweeter one uses boba and red bean. I liked the idea more than I expected because it gives the dessert a recognisably tropical direction instead of simply changing its shape for Singapore.
Another option is the Dreamy Banana Pastry at $16++, made with caramelised banana and dark chocolate whipped ganache. This felt like the more familiar and reliable choice, especially for anyone who cares more about pastry than character presentation. The Twinkle Twinkle Twin Popsicles and LABUBU-themed black sesame popsicle are priced at $15++ each, while the Singapore-exclusive LABUBU Butter Cookies cost $32 and come in a collectible-looking box filled with butter, chocolate and coconut cookies.
For drinks, the menu continues the character theme. The Twinkle Twinkle Mango Sago and Yuzu Buddy are both priced at $12++. Mango sago is the friendlier choice if you want something creamy and familiar, while the Yuzu Buddy is noticeably sharper and more sour. POP BAKERY also offers specialty coffee, so there are simpler options for anyone who does not want their drink to compete with an already elaborate dessert.
This is not a budget café visit. A dessert and drink can easily take your bill past $30 before service charge, and the prices clearly include the themed experience, character design, and Sentosa location. I would treat it more like a fan outing than a casual coffee stop. The desserts are part food, part photo opportunity, and part souvenir memory.
Reservations are required for dine-in, with each session limited to 60 minutes. Regular reservations do not have a minimum spend, while takeaway customers can walk in, although queues may form during busy periods. The café opens from 11am to 9.30pm from Monday to Thursday, and from 10am to 9.30pm on Fridays, weekends and public holidays. Last orders are at 9pm.
Fans can also meet Twinkle Twinkle from Thursday to Monday during selected sessions from 2pm to 3pm, 4pm to 5pm, and 6pm to 7pm. These meet-and-greet reservations require a minimum spend of $40 per person and $80 per table in one transaction, so it is worth checking the conditions before booking.
Would I return? Probably, especially when a new exclusive dessert or collectible appears. It is not the kind of café I would visit for an ordinary weekday drink, but it works as a destination for collectors, fans, and people like me who enjoy bringing their favourite character merchandise out for a tiny café date.
